The Herb Hilscher Collection consists of letters, planning documents, community information, scholarly papers, newsletters, brochures, speeches and photographs relating to the Inuit Circumpolar Conference held in Nuuk, Greenland in 1980. Hilscher was selected by the North Slope Borough to represent The Anchorage Times as a correspondent at the conference participants. Some of the photographs may have been taken during the first Inuit Circumpolar Conference in 1977, but most of the images lack captions and identification is problematic.
